QUESTION OF LEASE FOR PICTURES COUNCIL'S OFFER DECLINED (0.C.l Patea, Aug. 11. A letter from Patea Pictures. Ltd., advising that the council’s offer to lease the Patea Town Hall for one year at a rental of £6OO. plus rates, was" unreasonable and could not be entertained, was received by the Patea Borough Council nt its meeting tonight. The letter was received ar.J no action taken. The council agreed to meet two Government representatives. Mr. O’Halloran and Mr. R. GirlingButcher. both of the Department M Internal Affairs, when they visit Patea on Wednesday, and discuss the question with them.
