YVAVERLEY. Mr. W. Trudgeon, who has been visiting Wanganui, has returned home. Miss Rosevier is the guest of her sister, Mrs. G. McGregor. Mr. A. Eames has left Waverley to reside with Mr. and Mrs. Flett, Onehunga. Mrs. Nevill, Palmerston North, is the guest of Mrs. H. P. Mitcalfe. Mr, and Mrs. Nicholson and Miss Joan Nickolson left Waverley yes- | terday to take up residence in Matai mata. HUNTERVILLE Mr. and Mrs. W. Fairbrother will be pleased to learn that he was well encugh to be discharged from hospital on Saturday TAIHAPE Mr. S. Beban, who is leaving Taihape shortly to reside in Wanganui, will be the guest of honour at a vale-

dictory gathering to be held in the Town Hall supper rooms this evening. The Mayor. Mr. L. B. H. de Lautour, will preside. Mr. Beban was a member of the first Borough Council and also held the position of deputy-Mayor and treasurer in the early days. Members of the present Borough Council and the public have been invited to attend to-night's farewell function. The Rangitikei A. and P. Association stood in silence on Saturday afternoon as a mark of respect to the memory of the late Messrs. G. E. Anderson and T. C. Revell. The president. Mr. G. Brown, said that the late Mr. Anderson had served on the committee for 27 years and was president in 1920-21. Mr. A. R. Fannin referred to the assistance which he had received from Mr. Anderson during the speaker’s term of office as president. Tributes were also paid to the memory of the late Mr. Revell. Mr. V. Smith is on a visit to Rotorua. Mrs. E. Ewart Brown, of Gisborne, whose husband. Dr. E. Ewart Brown, is with the Middle East Forces in Egypt, and Miss Antoinette Jones, of Wanganui—both trained nurses, are at Huia Street Hospital with their I niece. K*ss R. Hardie, who is indisj posed.
