PRESENT i After an evenly-contested game, < Wanganui B dexeated Rangitikei ( at Marton on Saturday by 10 ' points to 6, with the halt-time ( score standing at 5 to 3 in favour 1 of the winners. 1 The match was only fair with oc- < casional bright interiudes. The attendance at the park was the largest this year. The teams were: Wanganui.—R. Grant; J. Farley, A. Cairncross, M. Grogan; R. Gill, S. Phillips, G. Crombie; A. K. Kjoss, N. Adamson, C. Dudley, B. Wright, W. Green, J. Hoy, D. Almond, and D. Tapi in. Rangitikei—D. McAlpine; J. Dornbv.sh, R. Russell, J. Hution; W. Illston, A. Renshaw; F. Tolely; J. Rewi, J. Goodwin, F. Death, D. Jones, T. Parke,:, D Buckley, D. Comrie and L. Row. Wanganui opened the score after a pretty run by the backs, culminating m Farley scoring. Adamson converted. —Wanganui 5, Rangitikei 0. ror Rangitikei Jones started a scoring movement by sending Hutton away, w o then handed to Renshaw. i he last-named player scored after a twenty yards swerving run. The kick missed, and half-time sounded with the score: Wanganui 5, Rangitikei 3. The second spell opened up very slowly, with little enthusiasm on either side. Rangitikei took the lead twenty minutes before time, when Tolley scored after an scrum had been given on the Wanganui line. The kick missed. SligbGy before time Wanganui decided the result of the game when Wright shot over after a prolonged forward scramble. Grant converted, leaving the linal score: - Wanganui 10 Rangitikei . . 6 Mr. A. Ward was the referee.
