OFFICERS FOR NAVY
THE EMPIRE SCHOOL BIG NUMBER PASSED Rugby. Aug. 8. Young men from the far corners of the Empire are still flocking to the Royal Navy’s biggest training establishment for officers, which since Hip war began has passed more than 6500 men through their training. Over 500 of these men—all of whom have gone to sea as officers —come from the Dominions. Canada’s contribution is about 350. Australia’s over 100. while New Zealand and South Africa supplied the rest. Most of the trainees are young men who have already served some month? at sea as ratings and have been recommended to take commissions.—B.O.W.
