MAN SENT TO GAOL. Fourteen days’ imprisonment in the Wanganui gaol was the penalty imposed upon Patrick Bernard Parker, labourer, who pleaded guilty at the | monthly sitting of the Taihape Magis- | trate’s Court on Thursday, to a I charge of using obscene language at j Taihape on August 6. Mr. R. M. Wati son S.M., presided. Sergt. A. H. Barnes told the Court that shortly after 6 p.m. on the day in question Parker went to the Catholic Presbytery and asked for a meal. He was given a cup of tea, and ' while the food was being borught he : used obscene language, and was told i that he would get nothing at all if he did not behave himself.
