Al the ou.ibreak of the war he entered the ;Royal New Zealand Air Force, undergoing training at Weraroa, Woodburne (Blenheim) and New Plymouth. He proceeded overseas as a pilot-officer, and for a time he was in a bombing squadron. A brother, Corporal Hugh Marshall of the 2nd N.Z.E.F., was killed in action on the island of Crete, and another brother, Private Peter Marshall. is on active service in Egypt. At the annual meeting of tin* New Zealand Farmers’ Fertiliser Company at Auckland yesterday, the chairman, Mr. S. I. Crookes. expressed the sympathy of members when apologising for the absence of a fellow director in Mr. G. L. Marshall, the meot-i-iT paying .silent tribute. Caithness, made feeling reference to this second bereavement of Mr. and Mrs. Marshall, members standing in silence as a mark of respect.
