MALTA GUNNERS
UNIVERSAL ADMIRATION (Recd. 5.5 p.m.) Rugby, July 30. The following telegram was sent to Lieut.-General Sir William Dobbie, Commander-in-Chief of Malta, by General Sir John Dill, Chief of the Imperial General Staff: “Please convey my congratulations to all ranks of the R.M.A. manning fixed defences on their great access in breaking up the determined enemy seaborne attack on the Grand Harbour. The action of these gunners excited universal admiration here in the United Kingdom.”—B.O.W.
