The following telegram was sent to Lieut.-General Sir William Dobbie, Commander-in-Chief of Malta, by General Sir John Dill, Chief of the Imperial General Staff: “Please convey my congratulations to all ranks of the R.M.A. manning fixed defences on their great access in breaking up the determined enemy seaborne attack on the Grand Harbour.
