ST. SIEUHEN S WOMEN'S CLUB 10. C.) Wavetley, July 31. There was a fair attendance at the monthly meeting of the St. Stephen's Women’s Social Club al, Waverley on Friday. The Rev. P. .Stanley gave an interest address on his visit to Synod at Wellington. Members brought sack articles fo, the bazaar. It was decided to postpone the card parties in the meantime. Hostesses for the afternoon were Mrs. S. Barrow and Misses D. Dicki" and C. Newland. PLAY READING AFTERNOON Mrs. J. Hoarc wore a silk paisley frock on Tuesday evening, when the Play Reading Circle met at her home. The play read was "Autumn Crocus,” and the readers were Mesdames J. Brown, N. Bromiley, J. Hoare, F. Bilton, J. Johnston, McGregor and Misses M. Webb, R. Bran, M. Gribbon. V SIGNS AT WAVERLEY Each day has been a marked increase in the popularity of the “V” sign at Waverley. During last week there was evidence that there were some followers of the campaign, but during the last few days more “V " signs have appeared before the public. In the majority of cases they have been placed in prominent places on shop windows, fences and delivery vans by their owners.
