REGENT THEATRE
“GO WEST” Crazier than ever, the three Marx Brothers make the Wild West go really wild in their latest picture, “Go West," which starts to-day at the Regent Theatre. From the time Groucho tries to sell the last beaver hat in America ("the beavers don’t make them any more—they play football now”) to Chico in order to raise the train fare to go west, to the epoch-making moment when the first spike is driven in the Dead Man’s Gulch railroad, the picture is a riot. With Groucho rolling his eyes, hoisting his eyebrows, and making the most absurd wisecracks, 4nd Harpo playing dumber than usual, these three frolic through the picture in ludicrous fashion. The highlight of the piece is the neck-and-neck dash between the three heroes on a train (1870 model), and the two villains on ! a two h.p. buckboard in an effort to I save the girl's grandfather from a i fale worse than death, or something. From the point of view' of pure comedy it is the finest thing they have done. The supporting programme includes pictures of the Anzacs in Greece.
