"SEVEN SINNERS.’’ Marlene Dietrich stars in the new Universal film, "Seven Sinners,” a romance of the South Seas in which she appears opposite John Wayne. The film screens to-day at the Majestic Theatre. An outstanding cast is seen in support of the two stars, including Albert Dekker, Broderick Crawford, Mischa Auer, Billy Gilbert, Anna Lee, Samuel S. Hinds, and Oscar Homolka. Miss Dietrich portrays a beautiful cafe singer who drifts from one island to another creating havoc | among the men, who light over her. lAt an American naval island she meets a young naval officer, played by i Wayne, and their romance brings the | story to its stirring climax. Dekker I has a featured role as a dissolute ship's surgeon who is reformed by his i love for the singer. Crawford is seen i as a beached navy man who appoints i himself as the woman's protector, and | attached to them is Mischa Auer, a i magician with a predilection for pick--1 ing pockets. Anna Lee, young British 1 star, makes her American debut in the role of the naval governor's | daughter, and Samuel S. Hinds is the I governor. Oscar Homolka, celebrated ' Continental star, returns to the I screen in “Seven Sinners” after a long I absence, and plays a mysterious figure out of Miss Dietrich's past. Homolka’s machinations lead to the final sequence of the picture, a general list light that is rated one of the greatest battles ever filmed.
