ANNUAL MEETING HELD SEASON TO OFFICIALLY OPEN ON APRIL 26. Wanganui Club Rugby matches < will begin for the 1941 season on Sat- ; urday, April 26. This decision was reached at the annual meeting of the ; Wanganui Rugby Union, held last night. There were present Missis. J. Quirk ■ I (Tainape), in the chair, H. Whiting, )■ J. Moye, C. Stewart, J. C. Ward, ana i W. Deerness (Metropolitan delegates), i, A. Henwood and C. C. Price (Ran git.- I; kei), J. Webb and S. McNichol (Tai-p hape), and A. Takarangi (Maori! representative). It was decided to have a solei.) selector and Mr. H. Whiting wash appointed to the position. I< When it came to the election of ofli- ■ cers, Mr. Quirk intimated that he did not wish to seek re-election. Mr. A. Henwood (Hunterville) was , elected president of the union, and!: Mr. J. Moye chairman of the Man-| agement Committee. Mr. Moje and: Dr. G. J. Adams were appointed dele-! gates to the New Zealand Rugby I: Union. The following remit was agreed to: : "That the rules be amended to pro-1 vide for the stipendiary secretary to be engaged during the pleasure of the I Management Committee and not elec-■ tive as at present." It was decided to forward the i name of Rangi Chase to the New Zea-1 land Rugby Union for reinstatement in the Rugby code. It was stated I that Chase was now residing pierman-I ently at Moawhango. The application was supported by the Taihape dele-I ■ gates and Mr. A. Takarangi.
