WEST COAST EVENTS AT CASTLECLIFF NEXT SATURDAY'S CONTESTS Eight events, including two being contested for the first time, are to be held at the West ’Coast, North Island, [surf life-saving championships, ai Castlecliff Beach on Sunday. Events and entries are:— Hackshaw Searle Shield (West Coast championship, six-man rescue and resuscitation). —Titahi Bay. Maranui (holder). Lyall Bay A, Lyall Bay B, Castlecliff Surf Section of the Royal Life-saving Society. Gibson Cup (West Coast championship, four-man alarm). —Titahi Bay, Maranui (holder), A. B, and C, Lyall A and B, Fitzroy A and B, Castlecliff A and B, Patea. Williams Cup (march past).—Maranui, Lyall Bay (holder;, Fitzroy Castlecliff. Senior Surf Teams Race (teams of four). —Maranui (holder), Lyall Bay, Castlecliff. Junior Surf Teams Race.—Titahi Bay, Maranui, Lyall Bay (holder), Fitzroy, Castlecliff. H. and R. Sutcliffe Cup (women's, six man rescue and resuscitation).— Titahi Bay, Wellington, Fitzroy, Castlecliff, Patea, Waitemata, Milford. Hoate Cup (junior six-man rescue and resuscitation). Castlecliff (holder), Titahi Bay, Fitzroy, Maranui. Hurley Cup (women’s march past). —Titahi Bay, Castlecliff, Waitemata, Wellington, Fitzroy, Patea, Milford. . Wysocki Trophy (women's fourman alarm).—Titahi Bay, Wellington, Castlecliff, Fitzroy, Patea, Waitemata, Milford. Castlecliff and Titahi Bay midget surf teams will give demonstrations and may take part in the massed march past. Officials are: Referee, Mr. V. Allen (Wellington); marshpl, Mr. W. B. Broadhead (Wanganui); assistant marshal, Mr. J. W. Moorhead (Taranaki) ; computing stewards, Messrs. C. Ryan (Wanganui) and W. Williams (Wanganui): judges, Messrs. K. Stephens (Wellington), T. B. Hewitt (Wellington), N. Berge (Taranaki) and B. Currie (Taranaki); timekeepers, Messrs. K. Broughton (Wanganui), D. Kitney (Wanganui), T. Anderson (Wanganui), E. Crysell (Wanganui). C. Larsen (Auckland); announcer, Mr. R. Richards (Wellington); gates, Castlecliff Sea Scouts; secretary, Mr. R. Gibb. Music for the march past events will be played by the Wanganui Highland. Pipe Band.
