MAORI GIRLS LOST AND FOUND
SPENT 'NIGHT IN OPEN Two Maori girls who set out across country from Moawhango to their home at Turangaarere, were found in the Whakatara bush, about six miles from Turangaarere, on Wednesday afternoon by Messrs. A. Payne and Rangi Chase, the well-known RugbyLeague footballer. The girls left home at 6 o'clock on Tuesday morning and spent that night in the open. They had no food in their possession when they started out on their journey and were very hungry when found. Eight settlers took part in the seaTch for the girls.— (Own correspondent.)
