TRUCK DRIVER CHARGED ALLEGED FAILURE TO STOP [ For Press Association. 1 HASTINGS, Feb. 12. Folowing the discovery of Mrs. Ingrid Cook, Havelock North, an elderly woman, lying seriously injured on the road yesterday after she had been cycling from Hastings, Gilbert Mclnnes, aged 25, appeared in the Police Court on a charge of failing to stop after an accident. A remand for a fortnight was granted, bail being £lOO and one surety of £lOO. The arrest was made after the police had driven many miles along country roads, following a trail of broken glass. The trail led to a farm where a truck was found with a headlamp broken.
