MACHINE-TOOL PRODUCTION
BIG INCREASE IN CANADA Received Jan. 12, 7.30 p.m. OTTAWA, Jan. 10. Mr. MacDonald, Canadian Naval Minister, announced that machine-tool production in Canada in 1940 was valued at 11,000,000 dollars, which was 800 per cent, above 1939. A Government company purchased or arranged for the purchase of tools to the value of 40,000,000 dollars for essential war industries since its inception in June, 1940.
