HOME SIDE SLUMPS IN FIRST INNINGS

Low scoring marked the first day's play of the inter-college cricket match between the first elevens of Christ’s College, Christchurch, and Wanganui Collegiate School, on the Collegiate ground yesterday. Batting first, the visitors compiled 137, the top-scorer being D. W. Monoghan with 40. For Collegiate School, A. Alexander, a right-hand medium pace bowler, took four wickets for 24 runs.

Wanganui failed to get going and were all out for 72 runs.

For Christ's College B. B. McSweeney took four wickets for 22 runs.
