FERRIER’S PUTTING LAPSE AUSTRALIAN TIES IN LEAD FOR AMATEURS Received Dec. 16, 10.30 p.m. MIAMI, Dec. 15. Jim Ferrier finished tne Miami open golf championship with 73 for a total of 287. He three-puiucu at three greens to-day and finished the round in three over par. He declared: “My putting was sour.’’ He plans to drive to the West Coast to compete in several tournaments. He will then return to Australia. Ferrier tied with Earl Christiansen for the amateur honours and participates in the amateur play-off on Monday. Nelson won the tournament with an aggregate of 271, Heafner being-run-ner-up with 272.
