PRIZE IN PATRIOTIC ART UNION WANGANUI CAMPAIGN FOR TICKET SALES A gift house and garage, with full appointments, the total valued at £2500, has been donated by merchants and others associated with the building trades throughout the Wellington area in collaboration with the Hutt Valley Master Builders’ Association, and forms the major prize in an art union which is being conducted in aid of the funds of the Wellington Pro- ' vincial Patriotic Appeal in the ! £1,000,000 campaign. | Books of tickets have been disi Iributed throughout the Wanganui ' City and suburban area, as well as in adjacent districts, and a campaign for their sale has been planned by n .strong committee of the Wanganui City Patriotic Committee. The Junior Victoria League and members of the Sunshine Club are co-operating in assisting to sell these tickets in a citywide effort to-day, tables being set up a vantage points in Victoria Avenue. Other voluntary helpers are also re- , quired by the committee, whose slogan for the campaign is: “A house for a bob helps destroy the Nazi mob.” Built by master builders under the ( supervision of an architect, the bungalow has been erected on a gift section in Raroa Road, Lower Hutt, and everything in connection with this “stunt” has been given free. Every modern electrical contrivance has been installed in the house, including an electric washing machine and a stainless steel sink, os well as a garage for a motor-car, and the whole has been insured free of charge ' for a year. The grounds have been | laid out and planted 4ry landscape | gardeners, making an attractive first ' prize valued at £2500.
