FRANCE WILL SHARE IN VICTORY
REASON FOR AGREEMENT WITH BRITAIN BROADCAST BY GENERAL DE GAULLE. LONDON, Aug. 13. In a broadcast from London the leader of the free French forces General de Gaulle, explained why he had signed the agreement with the British Government last week. He said that France had nothing to expect from the enemy that hated her and had crushed her, nor from the men who had betrayed her, but she had everything to expect from a victory against that enemy. It was essential that the victory should be one in which France would share. That was his sole object in signing the agreement. For his part he had undertaken to organise all the free French forces to fight beside Britain. The British Government, in turn, undertook to restore in full after the victory the independence and greatness of France.
