Mrs. Douglas Andrews, Hamilton, is visiting friends in Wanganui. t » » * Mrs. H. Herwood was a Taihape visitor to Wanganui yesterday. Mrs. A. W. Finlay and Miss Finlay, Auckland, visited Wanganui during the week. Mrs. E. G. Smith, Napier, was a recent visitor to Wanganui. Wellington visitors to Wanganui this week included Mrs. L. Keith and Mrs. B. Allan. Mrs. R. L. Thompson, formerly of this city and now residing in Auckland, is spending a few days in Wanganui. She will be accompanied home by her daughter, Margaret, a pupil at the Friends’ School, who will spend the term holidays with her parents. Advice has been received that Miss Helen M. Fletcher, M.A.Hons., New Zealand, has passed B.A.Hons, in botany at Cambridge University. Miss Fletcher, who was dux and head prefect at Queen Margaret College, went to England two years ago. She is the daughter of Mr. and Mrs. Andrew Fletcher, Rongotai, Wellington. ENGAGEMENT Sheerin—Dully.— The engagement is announced between Joyce Elizabeth, youngest daughter of Mr. and Mrs. P. Duffy, Waverley, to Clive, second son of the late Mr. and Mrs. B. Sheerin, of Kairanga, Palmerston North.
