LIGHT MACHINE GUNS FOR HOME GUARD
ISSUE IN GREAT BRITAIN MILLIONS OF ROUNDS OF AMMUNITION PURCHASES IN UNITED STATES. (Bv Telegraph—Press Association—Copyright) Received Aug. 13, 5.5 p.m. LONDON, Aug. 13. The Daily Telegraph says that thousands of light machine-guns will shortly be issued to the Home Guard. There are many improvised strong points in the country where a rifle is of little value in an emergency. Hence the decision to equip units with guns capable of rapid fire. These guns will also have millions of rounds of ammunition recently purchased in the United States.
