BRITISH CONTRABAND CONTROL [ British Official Wireless. 1 RUGBY, Aug. 12. The Spanish Ambassador in London, the Duke of Alba, called on the permanent Under-Secretary at 1. • Foreign Office, Sir Alexander Cadogan, at the. end of last week /nd delivered a Note drawing attention to the recent British measures for contraband control and generally reserving the right of the Spanish Government concerning them. A Spanish Embassy communique denies rumours appearing in the foreign Press that Spanish ships in foreign ports were ordered not to sail, and adds that Spanish ships will continue to carry on normal trade.
