CLASSICAL CONCERT
CORNISH-RAMSAY RECITAL HIGH STANDARD ATTAINED Not since Gordon Mcßeth and Haydn Beck gave for the latter a farewell concert in the Opera House in 1916 has Cesar Frank's Sonata in A been played in Wanganui. It was the piece de-force at the CornishP.amsay concert last evening at the Old Museum Hall, when the whole of the seating accommodation was occupied. The other numbers were also delightfully executed and revealed the nigh standard of artistic attainment. Thelma Cornish’s pianoforte playing is of a very high standard indeed and it is not at al! surprising flat she should have attained to Dominionwide fame. An equally promising future beckons to Laurel Ramsay, whose violin playing is artistic, sure and inte'.'jgent. A fuller comment on the programme will be mode in tomorrow's .’esue.
