CRECHE FOR WANGANUI?
Sir.—A letter from ••Sympathiser’ seems to call for serious attention It portrays the strenuous life of manj New Zealand women, especially ir the country. They are brave am uncomplaining though often theii health and strength are over-taxet tearing children, tunning the house and, in some cases, helping in th< milking shed, and no domestic hel; available. Much of the public money whici has been squandered on living status and works like the sports ground o the Intermediate School (going on foi many months), and similar unproduc live undertakings, would surely hav< been better employed easing the daih life of these brave women, w no largely contribute to the prosperity and lif< of the country, and are thus entitle' to honour and consideration. I, an many others, would be glad to hear o a move being made in this matter.— 1 am, etc., “MEM-TAHIB.”
