THE X VALENTINO OF ROSE DREAMS” PAYS CALL AT LETTERLAND
Dear Wendy.—l hope I am not being intruding entering your house without tapping on the door first. Well, Wendy, here I am again all spick and span for my first appear- ' ance. Last Saturday week was a beastly day to be running around, but in spite of rain, hail and thunder I took a ride to Raetihi. On my way I : was surprised to see a charming girl ■strolling along the highway enjoying J her afternoon walking in spite of the ’.cold and rain. Her face was familiar Ito me and sure enough she was no [other than the “Sophisticated Hula [Girl,” who had her birthday recently. I Arriving at Raetihi my first desire was ; to secure some books and one or twtf ■films as you know reading and photography are my hobbies. Arriving home that night I was more astonished to find a telephone call waiting for me. Of course the speaker was unknown to me till finally she gave herself away. She was “Laughing Hula Eyes!” “The X Valentino of Rose Dreams” will now bid you cheerio. Yours truly —“THE X VALENTINE OF ROSE DREAMS,” Tokaanu. Welcome to our Wendy Hut, my dear. I am so pleased to have a visit from you to-day. The weather has been dreadful until recently. The sunshine has been like a tonic after the chilly days. What a surprise to meet your co-Ite. Yould you please use a dark leadpencil or ink. Mr. Printerman could hardly read your letter.— Wendy.
