OBITUARY
MR. MATTHEW HENRY ROE. The death has occurred in Auckland, of Matthew Henry Roe, aged 94. Born in Auckland, Mr. Roe was educated in Australia and on his return to the Dominion was for some years in charge of the clerical staff of a timber mill at Cornwallis, owned by his father. In later years he took up land at Pahiatua, where he farmed until his retirement. He then lived in a houseboat on the Manukau Harbour for about 20 years until he settled in Ponsonby about 10 years ago. Mr. Roe. who was a keen cricketer when a young man, enjoyed excellent health until shortly before his death. He was not married. MRS. E. E. LEIGH. The death has occurred at Huntly, of Mrs. Emma Elizabeth Leigh, of Glen Murray, aged 79. Born at Melbourne Mrs. Leigh came to New Zealand in 1898. Before going to Glen Murray she lived in the Manawatu and
Lower Hutt jlitrict and at Chritchurch. She had resided at Glen Murray for the past 16 years. Mrs. Leigh is survived by two sons.
