GERMANS ALLOWED SCOPE IN JAPAN
DIFFERENTIAL TREATMENT POINTED OFT Received July 31. 9 p.m. LONDON, July 31. The Times says that during the interview with Mr. Matsuoka, Sir Robert Craigie pointed out the strict way Germans in Japan were organised. The local branch of the in az; Party had build up a kind of Little Nuremburg, to which all must belong, where they wqre all taught how to think and act by party bosses and propaganda lectures. When Japan had joined the anti-Comintern pact a member of the Gestapo had been permitted to become a member of the Japanese Home Office. This local Himmler had influenced the Japanese Press and had persauded the authorities to show German propaganda films. The Germans lately had been sending a number of tourists and businessmen to Japan, who were doing little ing and less business.
