City Engineer's, Plant.
Purchase of extra plant for the city engineer’s department has been provided for in the estimates approved by the Wanganui City Council. The' engineer (Mr. L. F. Row) has been instructed to obtain quotations for the' supply of motor mowers up to an amount of £6OO. When the quotations are received they are to be refen »d to a purchasing sub-commiiiee and reported on to the council. Visitors From Napier
To play inter-school matches with the Wanganui Intermediate School pupils from the Napier Intermediate School will arrive in Wai.ganui today. To-morrow morning the Mayor of Wanganui, Hon. W. J. Rogers, M.L.C., the secretary of the Wanganui Education Board, Mr. G. N. Boulton, and the principal of the Wanganui Intermediate School, Mr. W. E. Fossette, will welcome the teams, and later basketball matches will be played. If the weather is fine they will be played at the school, but if wet in the Y.M.C.A. gymnasium. Rugby and soccer matches will also be played on the Wanganui Technical College grounds. Referees will be: Rugby, Mr. G. A. Thompson; soccer, Mr. A. Thompson; basketball, Miss B. Goldsbury and Miss M. Maras. Tomorrow. afternoon there will be a walk to Virginia Lake for the visitors and on the return to school fruit and refreshments will be handed out.
