Screaming of children and shots from a gun disturbed residents of Durham Street at 7 o'clock last night. Messrs. Joe and Allan Faulkner rushed into the residence of Mr. C. F. Mabey and found him struggling to" wrest a gun from his son-in-law. Andrew Ferguson. Mr. Snowden, who lives nearby, also rushed in and escorted Ferguson to the police station. Mi-. Mabey, who is elderly, suffered no injury. In the Police Court to-day Andrew Ferguson was chargea with discharging a double-barrelled shotgun at Charles Thomas Mabey with intent to do grievous bodily harm and also with presenting a firearm at Mabey. On the application or the police he was remanded till August 2.
