SUBMARINES HOME
EXPLOITS REC ALLED (From Davenlry.) Two British submarines have returned safely to their base in this country. One is the Truant, which torpedoed the light German cruiser Karlsruhe. This was a remarkable exploit. The Truant had to make her way through a minefield, and was attacked with depth charges by a German destroyer. She was not damaged, and after lying quiet for a while returned safely through, the minefield. The other is the Sea Lion, which had an equally exciting voyage and succeeded in sending a 3000-ton German transport to the bottom.
