ONE KILLED, FOUR INJURED
MOTOR-CARS COLLIDE HEAD-ON SMASH ON BRIDGE [ Per Press Association. ] AUCKLAND, April 12. One man was killed and four other people were injured, three of them severely, when two motor-cars met in a head-on collision on a concrete bridge on the main road near Albany this afternoon. Killed LEIGH VIPOND, aged 45, married, a farmer, of Whangaparaoa. Injured MRS. VICTORIA HARNETT, aged 57, of Silverdale; severe head and internal injuries; condition serious. BEK 1 KAM DUNCAN MCKENZIE HARNETT, aged 65, farmer, husband of Mrs. Harnett; concussion and fracture of right arm; coni dition not serious. MRS. SANDERS, of Te Hana; internal injuries; condition not serious. ■ I. A. TITCHENER, of 25 Minnehaha Avenue. Takapuna; abrasions. Of the four injured people all were admitted to the Auckland Hospital except Titchener, who was only slightlyhurt. Two young men. relatives of Mrs. Sanders, escaped without injury. So severe was the impact that the two motor-cars were locked together on the bridge, blocking it for use by traffic for some time. Both vehicles were damaged extensively.
