BEAULIVRE EULOGISED SHOULD HAVE WON DONCASTER SHORT OF A RACE. Received March 25, 7.5 p.m. SYDNEY, March 25. The Sydney Morning Herald, commenting on the Doncaster Handicap, says: “Beaulivre proved himself to be every bit as good as his excellent form in New Zealand had indicated. Three weeks ago it was problematical whether he would be fit for the Doncaster, and before Saturday he had not run in Australia. His performance in leading nearly all the way was striking, and what he would have done if he had had a race before the day can be conjectured. Mildura joined Wakeful and Sir Foote as the only horses to follow up a success in the Newmarket Handicap with a win in the Doncaster. For all his greatness, 9.0 in a fast-run Doncaster was beyond High Caste.” The Turf writer of the Labour Daily considers Mildura to have been fortunate to win the Doncaster, being of the opinion that had Beaulivre raced in Sydney before the big mile he would have downed Mildura. WILLIAMSTOWN MEETING MACROB WINS EASTER CUP Received March 25, 11.50 p.m. MELBOURNE, March 25.
