DISRUPTIVE ELEMENTS

FIRM STAND BY LABOUR PARTY CONFERENCE ADOPTS REPORT [ Per Press Association.) WELLINGTON, March 25. A section of the annual report of the national executive of the A’W Zealand Labour Party presented to the annual conference to-day, dealt with disruptive elements and. along with other sections of the report, it was adopted. It stated that the national executive had given consideration to the fact that certain members of the party branches and delegates to the Labour representation committees were using their positions to cause strife and disruption inside the party. It set out the rulings forwarded to all affiliated organisations last September announcing the intention to take drastic action against anyone cooperating with other political parties or anti-Labour organisations in defiance of the conference’s instructions, forbidding support for the Communist Party or its auxiliaries, and forbidding'publication by party members of anything not in line with the party’s policy or attacking the Labour Government. An executive resolution, "That the Wellington Peace and Anti-Conscrip-tion Council be declared a political party and no member of the Labour Party shall attend or take part in the conference proposed to be held at the Trades Hall, Wellington, at Easter; further, that defiance of this ruling will debar the person concerned from being accepted as a delegate to the Labour Party annual conference,” was endorsed by the conference. The conference also endorsed strict, enforcement of the executive rulit.'g that with the exception of motions brought forward by the L.R.C. executive, no motion or business be placed on the agenda or considered by the Labour Representative Committee unless through official correspondence from an affiliated organisation.
