NEW EXPLOSIVE
DEMONSTRATION IN U.S.A. Received March 19, 8 p.m. WASHINGTON, March 18. Congressional naval and military committees have agreed to a demonstration of the Barlow explosive. Mr. Lester Barlow, a specialist in aerial bombs, testifying before the Senate Military Affairs Committee, said that Hitler’s “secret weapon’’ is probably an air-mine filled with liquid oxygen and some form of carbon, stated a Washington message on March 14. The Germans, he said, experimented with it at the siege of Barcelona in the Spanish war. It has not been used since because, though it had destructive effects, it was highly dangerous to carry in an aeroplane. Mr. Barlow described a similar bomb which he u’anted to demonstrate to the Government, claiming that it was vastly superior to the German weapon
