COLLAPSED IN PUBLIC PLACE

TWO HASTINGS DEATHS ( Ter Prase Association.) HASTINGS, Feb. 21. For the second time within 24 hours a person has collapsed and died suddenly in a public place in Hastings. To-day Mr. Harry Jones, aged about 55, collapsed on the rails at the Stortford Lodge safeyards, and died within a few minutes. It is understood that he had been in illhealth for some time. He was well known in stock farming and turf circles. He was a keen trotting enthusiast, and owned and raced horses. He is survived by a wife. Mr. David Jones, who represented various Canterbury electorates in Parliament between 1919 and 1931, is a brother. Collapsing outside the post office yesterday, Mrs. Marian Wighton, aged 58, died within a few minutes. She had recently returned to the Dominion from a visit to Australia.
