DRUNKEN MAN S ESCAPE

TRIED TO BOARD TRAIN ARAMOHO STATION INCIDENT A fine of £2. with costs 3s, for trying to board the New Plymouth express while drunk on the Aramoho railway station on Tuesday, was imposed on John Donaldson, labourer, in the Wanganui Magistrate's Court yesterday. I He was convicted and discharged on the charge of drunkenness. Sergeant J. V. Cosgrave, who appeared for the police, said that Donaldson attempted to board the train when it had moved half its length along the platform and fell, but fortunately did not roll under the wheels of the carriages. Messrs. S. M. Dixon and A. R. Donaldson, J’s.P., presided.
