Bobby, who sings six new songs in his delightful voice, is seen as the rough, happy-go-lucky son of Leo Carillo, a Sicilian fisherman of San Francisco. With a. song on his lips and a pair of clenched fists, he sails into this new characterisation with a vitality never before revealed. The film is laid against the colourful setting of San Francisco’s fisherman's wharf and the famous Golden Gate Bay aiea.
