HERD IMPROVEMENT
LOCAL TESTING RESULTS The Wellington-Hawke s Bay Herd Improvement Association reports having tested 33,926 cows in the month of November and the average cow produced 8741 b milk of 4.5 average test, yielding 39.351 b butterfat. The 33,926 cows were divided into 51 groups, the highest groups being the Waihakeke-Parkvale and South Featherston groups which tied for first place with an average of 441 b butterfat per cow. The highest herd in the association was one of 13 cows which averaged 581 b fat and the highest cow in the association produced 981 b butterfat for the 30-day period.
