LEAVING FOR HOMES ON SUNDAY
TROOPS AT WAIOURU 1 Per Press Association | TAIHAPE, Dec. 6. Because troops are to be granted a fortnight’s Christmas leave instead of one week as originally intended, the 19th Wellington Rifle Battalion now in camp at Waiouru, will return to Trentham next Sunday instead of the following Sunday. A special train leaves Waiouru at 8 a.m. for Wellington. The Divisional Cavalry from Ngaruawahia, and the Field Engineers, who are in camp a’. Waiouru, will also leave on Sunday. Night manoeuvres were carried ' U. by the infantry untfi midnight, advancing and attacking movements Being included in the programme. This week, tank units made short runs. There will be no leave on Saturday, as the troops will be pieparing £ox departure the following day. The Government Publicity Department took a film of the camp yesterday.
