ARMY STRENGTH OF FIFTY THOUSAND
COMPULSORY TRAINING IN AUSTRALIA
CANBERRA, Dec. 6. Following the decision of the Federal Government to retire all members of the militia to the reserve at the end of th financial year the Government will introduce a full scheme of compulsory training in Australia. The strength of the army is likely to be not less than 50,000. The age groups are either 19 to 19 or 22 to 23, additional to the 21-year-olds who are already called up for the beginning of next year.
