Side by side with descriptions of the ceremonial rites of the Tongans is a vivid account of the opening of the Tongan Parliament by H.M. Queen Salore Tupon. D.B.E. Miss Blamires kept her eyes open in Tonga and her fluent pen enables her to do justice to what she saw. This enchanting book deserves to be read not only by all lovers of the Polfnesian race but also by anyone who would like to capture something of the simple but picturesque life of the Tongans.
