' WANGANUI SUB-CENTRE QUARTERLY MEETING HELD Training was proceeding splendidly ; and there was a financial membersflip I of 523 trainees, reported the secretary I of the Wanganui sub-centre of the! Red Cross Society, Mr. R. L. Garden, I at the quarterly meeting last night. I Mr. D. T. Allen presided over a good ! attendance. In reporting on the work of the i past three months, Mr, Garden paid; tribute to the service given by the; tutor sisters, whom it was decided to ■ make honorary members. It was reported that several dona- i tions had been received and the recent i street stall had realised 130. Several ; beds had been donated to the Wanga- 1 nui Hospital. The Maori section of the | sub-centre had raised £l4 and given • bandages to the value of £3, and the ■ Wanganui Girls’ College had given £4; 10s toward a bed. The financial state- ; ment disclosed that the total expendi- I ture to date had been £235, and cash i in the bank amounted to £ll6. i The secretary reported that there . would be no actual classes of instruc-' tion during January and February of' next year, as a number of the tutor i sisters and trainees would be on holi-1 day. However, practice could be; arranged if desired. ;
