MIDSUMMER MEETING FIRST-DAY NOMINATIONS Excellent nominations have been received for the Taranaki Jockey Club's Christmas meeting and appear to assure the success ot the gathering. The outstanding feature is the record number of horses entered from Auckland province. Auckland entries have been increasing year after year, and on this occasion there are 46 figuring in the lists. Most of the Taranaki trainers are keeping their teams in the province for the holiday meetings and there is every prospects of large even fields ir all events. Entries for the principal first-day events were published yesterday anc nominations tor the remaining events are as follow: Rahotu Hurdles Handicap, of £150: one and a-half miles and 100 yards.— Student Prince, Mai de Mer, Disturbed, Lady Jim, Sockettes, Taitoru Whenua Bob, Wynardo, Kaiwaka Centaurus, Allmetic, Du Maurier, Airshot, Baron Bold.
