CAPSIZE OF CAR

OCCUPANTS HURLED OUT TE AWAMUTU ACCIDENT TE AWAMUTU, Dec. 5. When a tyre on their car blew out and the vehicle somersaulted on the main south road just north of Te Awamutu on Sunday afternoon, Mrs. Ethel Webster, aged 57, of New Lynn, Auckland, received concussion, scalp wounds and shock; her husband, Mr. James Webster, aged 66, a lacerated ear, abrasion and shock; and Mrs. Ida Ward, aged 57, of New Lynn, abrasions and an injury to the back. Mrs. Webster's condition is serious, but Mr. Webster and Mrs. Ward are progressing satisfactorily. It is believed that the victims of the accident were hurled through the open sunshine roof of the car when it capsized, as the passengers were found 10 yards from where the vehicle came to rest. The car was travelling in the direction of Hamilton when the mishap occurred.
