Friends Entertained On Saturday night, Misses Marjorie [ and Dorothy Melville were joint host- ' I esses at a jolly party held at their 1 home in Castlecliff. About 70 friends were present, the rooms being decor- ' ated with vases of Iceland poppies and rhododendrons. Games were i played, a room being set up with amusement devices. A savoury sup- ■ per was served, and dancing con- : tinued until the early hours. Mrs. [Melville received in a frock of navy ! floral georgette. Miss Marjorie Mel- ’ ville wore < pastel-flowered green I sat in frock, while Miss Dorothy Mei- • ville chose a frock of powder blue isatin striped sheer. I Missionary Auxiliary ! A very interesting and helpful I meeting was held at Trinity Parlour on October 26. After Ihe devotional - xer ises the president, Mrs. Whitlock, read extracts from the Dominion president \ letter, in which she drew a sketch of the growth of the missioned auxiliary movement since its boginning. thus in 1914 the various luxi •- formed a union. There is to be a sale of work for our Solomon Island missions. Afternoon tea brought a very ' happy afternoon to a close. Fordell Golf Club ■ There was a happy gathering at '■ Aird” on Saturday afternoon for the official 'losing of the Fordell Golf Club’s 1939 season. The weather was ideal and a Canadian foursome was played by members, afternoon tea being then served in lhe clubhouse. Bowls of ixias and Iceland poppies decorated the tea tables. Mr. D.
