MINIATURE RIFLE SHOOTING As the shooting season is almost over, the attendance at the Marton f Miniature Rifle Club’s weekly shoot ■on Monday night was very good. In ; the last shoot-off for Mr. P. Rankin 65, 64 I l-‘9 I - ' MARTON ATHLETIC AND CYCLING CLUB The attendance at the annual meeting of the Marton Amateur Athletic and Cycling Club on Monday evening ‘constituted a record and keen interjest was taken by those present in the election of officers, a ballot being held ifor vice-presidents and the executive committee. The executive committee appointed was Messrs. F. Wood. F. Harper, C. ipidwell. F. Tolley, S. Christopher. W. Holland. K. Atkinson. S. Blackledge, >and officers ex-officio. | The president (Mr. C. C. McDon'ald' and Messrs. A. H. Holder, A. Barr and A. Smart were elected a I finance committee. | Delegates to the West Coast (Centre are Messrs. M. Atkinson and jS. Christopher (running) and I. Way (life member* presented the trophies won by cyclists in the toad races and congratulated the committee and officials on the results of ithe year's working considering the adverse weather and postponements that had to be contended with. He appealed to the competitors and committee to make a “drive” for more members which, he was sure, would be beneficial to the club and the competitors. There was no doubt that the evening meetings were very popular with the general public when the weather was favourable.
