ARAMOHO BOATING CLUB MITCHELL SHIELD CONTEST. . SECOND ROUND RESULTS. Perfect weather and water conditions prevailed lor the second round of the Mitchell Shield, the hrst trophy event oi the season at the Aramoho Boating Club. In the first race both crews got away well but Brown's crew soon took the lead and at Brunswick Road had a length to spare. From here on Firmin’s crew gradually reduced the gap and passing under the bridge .Brown had a bare canvas lead. In a 'desperate limsh Firmin got up on the I post to gain the verdict by a bare canvas. The winning crew was as follows: —W. Firmin, (st.). W. Dearsley (3), A. McNicol (2), E. B. Noble (bow), W. Heal (cox). Stowers and Jerom.son contested the second race and it proved to be an exciting struggle. Both crews got away well and rowed neck and neck over the first half of the journey. From Brunswick Road Stowers gradually gained a canvas which he held to the finish in spite of determined efforts, by Jeromson. The effort put up by Jeromson’s crew was very meritorious considering that it consisted of first and second-year members. The personnel oi the winning crew was as follows:—P. Stowers (str.), A. W. Clark (3), D. Caughlen (2), J. Verrail (bow), T. Hamblyn (cox). The final will be rowed to-night, when Stowers, rows Firmin. Tesla Fours. Entries for the Tesla fours close at 9 a.m., Sunday, November 5. ganui East Club, the game being played last evening.
