VICTORIA .\YAN7.. SUGAR CO. The Victoria Nyanza Sugar Co., Ltd. has advised the Stock Exchange Association that advice has been received that the largest swarm of locusts seen since 1932 attacked the Muwani plantations and, subsequently Chemelil. At least 80 per cent, of the cane on Miwani Estate has now been badly defoliated. and the remainder has also suffered damage, though not to such a serious extent. The position at Chemelil is somewhat better, this being the first occasion on which the cane there has been eaten by a really large swarm.”
