WELLINGTON WRESTLING BOUT "WILD IRISHMAN” GOES BERSERK DECISION FOR TURK [ I’er Press Association.] WELLINGTON, Oct. 30. A somewhat uninteresting wrestling contest had an unexpected denouement in the Town Hall to-night when 1 a police officer stepped into the ring a few minutes before the finish of the last round and ordered the contest to stop. The wrestlers were Batros Pasha, of Turkey (15.7 > and George O’Brien, known as the "Wild Irishman” (15.0), and the bout, which attracted only a small crowd, was the first held by the newly-formed New Century Sports Club. Up to the last round there was nothing particularly to excite the crowd, which, however, was hostile to Pasha's "cave man” tactics, but in the last round O’Brien, who up to then had conducted himself with the utmost decorum, went completely berserk, tossed his opponent out of the rnig several times, and even went to the length of throwing the releree out after him. This sudden outburst was appreciated by the crowd, which up to then had seen a comparatively tame display, with nothing new in the way of holds, but. it was frowned on by the police. Pasha, who had scored a fall in the sixth round with a press when O’Brien’s legs were hooked up in the ropes, got the decision.
