RATIONING OF CLOTH
LATEST GERMAN EDICT Received Oct. 30, 6.5 p.m. LONDON, Oct. 29. The Copenhagen correspondent of The Times states that the Politiken learns that cloth rationing cards arc being introduced in Germany owing Io the unpopularity of the present system under which an application for anything from a handkerchief to a frock or suit is granted only after careful investigation and personal official visits to the applicant's home in order to inspect his wardrobe. The card, representing an annual ration, comprises 150 coupons. One gives the right to buy collars, 25 a child’s frock, and 40 to 50 a lady’s cloak. Business circles fear the simultaneous use of all the coupons, thus paralysing trade.
